While working with Dr. Jen she identified that I had a separation of my abdominal muscles. We worked on coordinating breathing with pelvic floor contractions during a variety of core and hip strengthening activities, she did scar tissue release on my C-section scar, and she massaged the muscles in my back and abdomen. Module 1

Connect

Welcome to the Circle!

  • Connect with a community of like-minded women and lean in as we gather together to focus on wellness and restoration for moms.
  • You’ll be surrounded with women ready to take back their strength and restore their body and mind.
  • Reconnect with your body! A discussion on anatomy and physiology will enhance your comprehension of the muscles in your core and pelvic floor, enabling you to recognize and engage with muscles you may have overlooked or disassociated from during exercise.

Module 2

Control

Learn how to control your breath, posture, and pelvic floor.

  • Controlled breathing exercises will reveal how posture, breath, and your pelvic floor are related. 
  • Diaphragmatic breathing, helps improve pelvic floor function by engaging the muscles and increasing blood flow to the area.
  • Mindful breathing practices help you manage stress and anxiety, which will improve your overall sense of control.

Module 3

Coordinate

If you learn by doing, this is the module for you! In this yoga session, we’ll challenge ourselves by putting it all together! We will be coordinating our breath with movements that focus on strengthening the core and pelvic floor.

  • You’ll learn techniques and poses specifically designed to target the pelvic floor, help strengthen the muscles, and improve their overall function.
  • The pelvic floor is part of the core, so we will also include exercises that strengthen the entire core.
  • Gentle stretching will help release tension in the pelvic floor and improve flexibility in the surrounding muscles.
  • Yoga emphasizes the mind-body connection, so this class will also also include practices such as visualization and mindfulness meditation to help you coordinate your pelvic floor muscles with your breath, and deepen your understanding of, and connection to, your body.

Commune

Lunch & Learn

  • You will enjoy a delicious, healthy meal while engaging in a discussion on all things women’s health!
  • Sharing a meal is a great opportunity to enjoy some amazing food and connect with other women who get what you’re going through.
  • We will be discussing all the taboo topics that no one likes to admit to, like: incontinence, diastasis recti, pain with sex, difficulties toileting/pooping, and more!
  • Dr. Jen will guide the conversation, sharing insights and answering all your questions.

Clear

Step into a realm of profound rejuvenation led by Dr. Deanine of Whole Person Healing. In this transformative experience, we combine community-style acupuncture with the healing vibrations of Megan Metcalf’s sound bowls to facilitate the harmonious clearing of your pelvic bowl.

  • Engage in pelvic bowl clearing through techniques like deep breathing, visualization, and guided meditation.
  • Amplify the flow of energy and blood to your pelvic region, through acupuncture and vibrational healing, fostering tension release and deep relaxation.
  • Discover potential benefits for conditions such as pelvic pain, menstrual cramps, low back pain, and other pelvic-related issues.

Experience the transformative practice of body rolling with Jessica LaFalce, guided by the revolutionary Rad Rollers. This unique session invites you to embark on a journey of self-discovery, allowing you to deeply “check in” with the tension residing in various areas of your body.

Under Jessica’s expert guidance, you’ll explore the power of self-massage, a method that goes beyond conventional fitness routines. You’ll uncover hidden pockets of tension and release them, promoting flexibility, improved circulation, and an overall sense of well-being.

Engaging in this personalized body rolling experience will decrease tension and discomfort you’ve been holding in areas you weren’t even aware of!

Calm

We will close out the day with a Yin style Spa-yoga class.

  • Yin yoga is a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating experience. In this slow-paced, meditative yoga class, we will hold supported relaxation postures for 3-5 minutes or more. The practice targets the deep connective tissues of the body, such as the ligaments, tendons, and fascia, with the goal of increasing flexibility and mobility. The focus is on relaxing into the poses and using the breath to cultivate a sense of calm and inner peace.
  • This Spa-Yoga experience will include aromatherapy, massage, soothing music to create a peaceful and calming atmosphere, and help you reduce stress and promote your overall well-being.

Meet Dr. Jennifer Clarkson

When I was pregnant with my first child, I became obsessed with learning all the physical therapy treatments for common problems during pregnancy. I was like a machine consuming all the research articles, seminars, and going to live courses on how to treat pregnant women.

Then, while I was pregnant with my second child, I became obsessed with postpartum recovery, because that was HARD for me after my first baby! I was was determined to find a better way to do it the second time!

I felt so alone trying to search for all of these things and I found myself thinking, "If I'm having problems, finding answers, even with all of my training and knowing where to look for help, then many moms are probably struggling and not getting the help that they need."

I don't want YOU to feel lost and alone.

There are so many aspects of postpartum recovery that I think should be common knowledge. The way that we stand, sit, and move our bodies, as well as the habits that we develop, can all significantly improve our recovery.

I want to teach you ways to make postpartum recovery easier. And, I want you to know, you’re not the only one struggling with multiple body issues post-baby.

The only conversation most moms are talking to each other about is whether or not they’ve lost their baby weight, and the struggle with finding the time. But for many moms, after having their babies, the issues go far beyond weight.
